Wig Curling Lab 101

Ready for the wig!
Well I washed the wig out this evening after dying the remaining white spots yesterday, but that process removed most of the curl I had put in the bangs. '~'

No matter, I wanted to add some body to the bottom of the wig anyway: it simply looked to plain as a straight, flat edge. I tried again with the curlers and the blow dryer, but really was not thrilled with the results. It worked fine on the fringe again, but not on the ends. So, I went to plan 'b': the boiling water method.

The wig after the rollers were removed.
I should have let it dry all the way, then
combed it out. Now I know for next time...
With curlers still in, I boiled some water, then quickly dunked the wig. I think I may have had it in the there too long: the instructions said 3 seconds, and I probably did five. The result is a bit frizzier than I may have wanted, but I do think it looks better than before. Opinions on this?

Anyway, with the wig done I can officially claim Julia as complete!

Plus, I ran to the store while on my lunch to purchase turquoise acrylic paints for temporary eyebrow coloring; and comb in temp color for my hair, so as to be able to hide my roots. That was a lot more trouble than it ought to have been too, thank you Murphy and your law. >.>

One completed Julia wig!
Somewhere I have a wig cap, which I'd like to use so I don't have to color all of my hair, but I can't find it for the life of myself. I simply have no clue where it went during my move. I may just have to buy a new one...

 In any event, pictures of the costume as a whole are coming soon! Even if they are taken with my camera's self timer. ^^;;
