I'm sitting here waiting for the fray check to dry around the edges of the faux fur we're using for Lulu. If I was smart, I would have glued the edges befor I started working with it. Duh. As is I started pinning it to the chemise, and then said "Oh, I should fray check the edges!" Intelligent right?
It's like the part of Dianna Wynn Jones' "Howl's Moving Castle" where she describes Sophie as being good at cleaning, but does not quite do things in the right order. I remind myself of that description quite often...
In any event, I've whipped together the chemise without much difficulty this evening. I kept putting this cosplaty off because I was afraid of how much work it was going to be- but it's gone together so easily! Serioudly, what was I afriad of? Or maybe I underestimate my own abilities. No pictures of the Chemise yet though, you can't see it under the drying fur at this moment.
Speaking of "Howl's Moving Castle" I'm trying to decide if I should cosplay Sophie next- after Quorra (in theory). Of course, this would be Miyazaki's Sophie, "Howl's Moving Castle" is the only movie that I like more than it's book counterpart. I'm probably just biased in Miyazaki's favor... Anyway, the question remains; who to make next? The choices are Sophie, in her blue dress and short silver hair from the end of the movie; Arwen, in her green coronation dress as seen in RotK; or Utena, in the blyue uniform she receives from Dios half way trough the manga. Any thoughts? Votes? Input at all?
Pictures of Lulu's chemise/fur shawl coming soon. ;)
