So I stopped by JoAnn's on my way to work today. The cutting counter line was longer than I wanted to brave at that point. Instead I viewed a couple of different items so I could think about designs and make a few decisions, and grabbed the two notion items I needed. Marching my way up to the front end with my shoulder pads and curved needles I was met with a line of, seriously, 15 people.
Now it wasn't that long when I went in the store, but I was not going to stand in that- and this is not the first time their long lines have thwarted me. I had things carefully timed so I could purchase my stuff and get to work on time. I do not have time to stand in line for a quarter of and hour (or more) waiting to buy two things from the notions wall. And JoAnn's is half an hour out of my way to begin with.
Anyway, I'm super irritated. Craft stores seem to think that all of their customers are old people who go to bed when the sun goes down, so they aren't open very late. Not even the Holidays prompt them to keep later hours. I'm a paying customer in these tough economic times, but I already have to go out of my way to get there. Why the heck should I bother going and wasting my time and gasoline, when I'm not going to get what I want in the first place?
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
All right, I feel a bit better after ranting. Still, I won't be making any progress tonight, and that's the most frustrating part about the whole thing.
