So I made it to JoAnn's yesterday, and actually purchased what I needed before going to work! Yay! The cutting line was still very long, but I didn't have to wait on the front end. Positive.
Despite having purchased much of what I currently need, including shoulder pads, curved needles, and gold home decor trim; I made no progress last night. Instead I had to prep my costume for today: Sailor Moon! Yes, for Samurai Comics' Anime Fest.
Actually, there was not too much to do: I ironed the fuku (I hate ironing), and starched the bows. I still have not made new bows for the costume, these ones being too floppy, but starching them has resolved that issue. I have perfectly crisp, form fitting bows, without having to remake anything! Yay!
No further revelations beyond that. I started taking apart a pair of shoes, the soles of which I will be using for my Sailor Moon boots. But, as the boots are wearable without the soles, I was/am not really in a hurry.
I'll be working on Utena's wig this evening. As I am going to Amara's house after the Fest, I needed something I could work on that was semi-portable: i.e, not my sewing machine. Posts about that, and pictures, to come. >w<
